I don't know why they make toys that don't fully serve the purpose they are intended for. The doll is fine, both arms move at the shoulders and the head moves side to side at the neck.The irksome thing about it is that there is only one accessory that comes with it - the cowboy hat and it does NOT stay on! And one knows how big Dora's head can be! Unless one uses the toy as a display piece, the hat falls down. The hat is made of hard yet slightly flexible plastic. The doll is made of hard plastic. And yes, the doll does stand well on its feet.
My 3 yr old daughter is interested in the doll though handed the hat to me.
Bought it for a couple of dollars less at Target.
