Fisher-Price GeoTrax Disney/Pixar Cars 2 RC Spy Mater Review
I purchased a GeoTrax Spy Mater online from a different site. Received it, plugged in batteries into the remote and car and it worked great -- moved really fast (as compared to the non-turbo Geotrax vehicles), etc.Well, that is until it stopped going forward... The R/C made the sounds registering that it was in the forward position, but the vehicle itself just sat there. Putting it into reverse, it reversed.
Tried changing batteries, still would not go forward. Also tried manually pushing the thing forward to "unjam" something (if there was a jam) -- all to no avail.
SO... Got a SECOND one. After all, even the best quality control assembly line can pump out a defect once in a while...
Second one had a different issue. The car itself would not turn-on. If you swapped batteries in/out a number of times and depressed the thing to turn it on with a screw driver, eventually it would go on... but once it died, it was hit-or-miss as to whether it would turn back on again -- again, with going thru a variety of motions to try and activate the thing.
Based on 2 out of 2 failing, I am compelled to give it 1-star. BUT... As my son absolutely LOVES mater, and in contacting Fisher Price (twice) in the process, they were very professional & courteous, I will go ahead and bump it up to 2-stars.Oh, beyond all that, I don't like the new R/C for this... Much prefer the older Geotrax R/C controls - seem easier to use for little ones AND also seem more durable!
