I bought this teether because I thought it looked adorable. I also assumed that the description of "soft (lion) mane" would be true. But it's definitely NOT EVEN MILDLY SOFT. In fact, my rubber shoe sole is much softer than this "teether". Think of the hardness of a plastic computer mouse. I'm disappointed, but it does have it's advantages: still cute, easy for an infant to hold, makes simple (non-annoying) noise as rings click, & I suppose the colors are interesting to a baby.Fisher-Price Discover n' Grow Lion Teether Overview
