Fisher-Price Loving Family Grand Dollhouse Twin Time Bonus Patio Furniture Set Review

I was pleasantly surprised by (a) how easy it was to put this together, (b) how sturdily everything is built, and (c) the amount of details Fisher Price has put into the dollhouse. The windows, doors, eaves and characters are gorgeously built. The platter of cheese and veggies is only 1.5 inches across, but the food on it looks very real. Ditto for the tray of lemonade. Each glass even has a lemon wedge on it!
The dollhouse includes the big house, Daddy, Mommy, twin babies, the babies' high chairs, a basic living room set of two chairs and a checkered table, and a patio furniture set (again, consisting of a table, two chairs and an operational umbrella). You will probably need to buy a few more furniture sets to add to the dollhouse. Sadly, these sets are not inexpensive. But they are readily available on the web and in stores, so you shouldn't face much trouble in converting this house into a "home". The characters' limbs can bend, so kids can give them a variety of poses easily.
Assembly consists mostly of snapping one piece into another. You have to have faith, because sometimes you'll need to push two pieces into each other so hard that you'll be afraid they'll break. But they don't.
A grand staircase makes its way from the first floor to the second. The surface into which it snaps is flimsy, so I could never snap it into its slots. As a result it sits slightly crooked on the floor of the first floor.
Overall, this is a great, fun dollhouse for preschoolers through elementary-school kids. I suspect boys will like to play with it too, but I have no empirical evidence for that yet. :-)
