Fisher Price Snuggle-Kins Panda Bear Review

This toy is my daughters FAVORITE "Lovie" toy. Santa gave it to her for Christmas in 2007. She loved it! So cute how it growls. My daughter could not be happier and life without "Panda" just wouldn't be the same. She sleeps with her and takes it everywhere in the house. It is not allowed outside the house unless we go for a day trip to Grandmas or vacation. My problem is that within 6 months she didn't growl or make any sounds anymore. I replaced the batteries and still no sounds. My daughter was OK with it since it was her beloved "Panda". This toy also got really ratty quick and because of the batteries you cant wash it. After is stopped working I cut the wires and took out the mechanism and washed it. Didn't help much. After six months it LOOKED like it was several years old.
Then for Christmas 2008 Santa brought her a new growling Panda again. I was amaized how quickly she gave the old one to her brother and took the new one because it had sound again. The new Panda went right to work as her new "Lovie". Unfortunately, This one only lasted 4 months before it stopped growling!!!! I thought for sure it would only need new batteries but no! I have also had to stitch up the seam of the tummy too on both Pandas (before I tried washing the first one).
Her birthday is coming up next month but I won't buy a third.
If this toy still worked I would have given it 5 stars. But as it stands, I am a little disappointed.
