Fairy Toadstool Cottage Review
I have been buying toys for almost 6 years now and this is the first review that I have ever written. I felt compelled to do so because I am continually impressed with these toys. They are intriguing and my kids never tire of them. So awesome when many toys I purchase can go untouched for weeks.I started purchasing these little fairy houses a year ago, and they are so sweet and cute. My daughters ages 2 and almost 4 love these magical cottages. They like to set them up like a little village alongside my 5 and a half year old son's Imaginext playsets. It's nice to glimpse into their world where little fairies venture through jungles and pirates and cavemen drink tea seated in toadstool chairs.
The houses are made of nice durable plastic. The doors do sometimes fall off, and the handle comes off of the Shoe Fairy House easily. I wish they didn't, but nothing has broken that can't be popped right back on. The toys are a bit expensive, but the quality is well worth the price. The little fairies don't have articulating parts, but none of my kids have ever complained. The fairy figures are so sweet with soft faces and flower dresses. The colors are perfect, not too vibrant. Other toy figures fit into these houses. Dora and Angelina Ballerina have both recently moved in.
I give these toys five stars overall, and I would recommend these to anyone who loves to see the sweet innocence of a little girl at play. I would say the age range for this toy based on my experience is 14 months to atleast 5 years, and I hope my kids keep playing beyond this age. If you are considering which houses to buy, I would start with the Shoe Fairy House and then add on from there. The shoe is big, it lights up, and makes twinkling fairy sounds. You will not be disappointed.
P.S. I gave this toy four stars for educational value not by accident, but because I believe that imaginative play is essential to a child's ability to learn and grow in both character and intelligence. With that in mind this toy is packed with eductional value.
