Thomas the Train: TrackMaster Percy's Day at the Farm Review

My son is obsessed with Thomas the Train! His first set of words included choo choo...for his size we've gotten only the take along set (great for small hands). However, I've seen trackmasters, and thought that it would be nice for him to have something motorized and with a little more functionality.
This is his first Trackmaster set.
1 - the trains are so big that they won't work on the playsets of the take along. However, they will fit on the tracks. You can't connect trackmaster tracks with the take along.
2 - the trains are about 2x as big as the take along, so with little hands (he's 23 months), it's a little too big.
What my son likes
Percy moves on his own, which is really cool. He just watches him go around in circles. Very entertaining.
The tracks are EASY to put together, especially compared with the take along (the take along has little connectors, where as the trackmaster's connectors are about 2x as big and slips easily together)
He likes pushing the levers to make it go and stop (he doesn't fully get the concept - but he's figuring it out through trial and error).
It's a great toy! I probably won't start getting him more tracks/playsets until he's about 3+. He likes grabbing a couple of trains in his hand and walks around the house with them - with the trackmaster's size, he's not able to do that, and just choosing 1 would be impossible.
