Fisher-Price Barbie Tough Trike Ride-On Review
I bought this for my daughter who turns 2 this week. She is in the 90th percentile for height and she can't reach the pedals and has to stretch for the handlebars. She tries to use it as a scoot toy, but the rear wheels are in the way so she just runs over her heels. The advertised age ranges say 2-5 years, but based on my experience it is going to be more like 2.5-3.5 years old. 2 is too small, and a 4-5 year old would be way to big.The trike is actually pretty decent, It seems pretty tough and well built, although the rear wheels have a little more side-to-side play than I would like. My daughter loves the look of the thing even though she can't really ride it yet. The assembly was not a challenge, but more involved than I thought it would be (plan on 20-30 minutes) and required a philips screwdriver and a hammer. The stickers did not go on well but that is probably my fault.
So I would have given this 4-4.5 stars if it was about 25% smaller or my kid was 25% bigger. As is, I am a bit frustrated that the age ranges seem to be rather optimistic and my child won't be able to enjoy it this year. I may see if it is returnable.
